A bit about our Journey so far

A thought: To offer a creative and healing space, facilitating green exercise interventions, Equine assisted therapy, encouraging social and therapeutic horticulture and nature play.

In a welcoming safe environment for those of us that feel vulnerable in our community.

Accessible to our disabled and Elderly in the community .

Encouraging a healthy balance of connection with self, family and community.

Firstly I will introduce myself, my name is Tabitha,

I'm so pleased you are visiting our website and reading our story.

I hope this space can help you or someone you know having a hard time navigating Chronic Illness, Mental Health or Challenges it throws our way.

The property that Scrubby Nook calls home is located in Hindmarsh Valley, South Australia.

It is also the home of Pen-nant welsh cob stud.

(ponies native to Wales in United Kingdom)

My other passion that has been close to my heart for over 30years.

This is how Mimi and I met, She bought one of our ponies and she never left us, she has been working with our ponies for a number of years now, during this time she studied her Diploma of Counselling

and Equine Assisted Mental Health Practitioner.

This was a good arrangement for us both and so the plan begun to look towards the future.

Drawing on my life experiences within the space of family, loved ones, work, stress of school and the gift of friendships. The joy of becoming a parent the challenges just this can have on oneself.

Navigating broken relationships, Finding new love and most of all the personal loss of family and its affects on all that I love, I started a business plan. Its heading was

 "My dream your future"

I didn't always believe I could do this, self doubt and self sabotaging had its affect. Letting negative thoughts creep in at every turn.

Words of encouragement and learning some self-care strategies kept me on track.

Art & Photography are my go too

"I am strong, I am powerful, I am good enough, I can do this "

Our mission is to help others become the strong and powerful humans they can and want to be.

This started firstly with myself and still ongoing.

We will all experience some form of mental health in our life time and that's being human, It's what we do with it that matters.

Don't be afraid to ask for help !! There is no shame here, no judgment here, only love and encouragement to be yourself, help you find you.

Join us in a welcoming safe environment at Scrubby Nook.
